How I Can Help

Whiplash and trauma-related injuries may be recent, or they may relate to an older incident that the body has adapted around over time. Symptoms can settle initially, but restrictions from the original trauma may remain and continue to influence how the body moves and adapts. The force of the original trauma may also be transmitted through the body to areas far from the injury site, and restrictions left behind can gradually create a wider pattern of tension and restriction over time.

This may affect the neck, spine, pelvis, fascia, nervous system, and deeper tissues such as the dura, which surrounds the brain and spinal cord. This may contribute to symptoms such as pain, stiffness, headaches, fatigue, reduced mobility, altered balance, or a feeling your body has not fully settled since the event.

At InnerBalance Physiotherapy, my approach is gentle, careful, and respectful of where your body is now. I take time to understand what happened, how your symptoms have developed, and how your body has adapted since the injury. Previous injuries, old restrictions, or underlying patterns of compensation can also influence how symptoms are presenting.

Treatment may include gentle hands-on therapy, fascial, visceral or neural techniques, movement advice, and gradual exercises where appropriate. The aim is to ease old restrictions, support greater freedom through the tissues, and help your body move with more ease.
