Compassionate, Whole-Person Care

With a deep respect for each person’s unique path, my aim is to provide care that’s compassionate, empowering, and truly personal.

Because everything in the body is connected, I look beyond the area of pain to understand the patterns that may be contributing, helping create lasting change, not just short-term relief. This approach supports recovery, restores balance, and enhances overall wellbeing.

My focus is always on working with you: listening, understanding, and helping you build confidence as you move towards your goals.

Whether you’re supporting your child’s development, recovering from an injury, managing persistent pain, or simply ready to feel like yourself again, I’m here to guide your journey.

From infancy to adulthood and beyond, InnerBalance Physiotherapy offers personalised care to help you move more freely, feel stronger, and thrive at every stage of life.

For me, recovery is just the beginning. I want everyone I work with to feel supported and confident to keep improving long after they leave the clinic.

By combining hands-on treatment, movement-based therapy, and a whole-person perspective, I aim to help you restore balance, rediscover ease, and create lasting wellness.

Recover. Empower. Flourish.

About Me: Karen Breslin

I qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2003. Since then I have built extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including over 2 decades working within the NHS with both adults and children.

Ongoing learning has always been an important part of my professional life. I’ve completed extensive postgraduate training and continue to build on my skills and understanding. Over many years, I’ve trained across the Barral Institute’s visceral, neural, vascular and articular curricula, progressing through advanced and specialised courses. I now enjoy working as a teaching assistant with the Institute, sharing my love of this work: its depth of anatomy, precision and attention to detail.

I have been practising visceral manipulation for many years: a gentle, precise manual therapy that works with the body’s deeper fascial relationships and how these influence movement and function. Over this time, I’ve developed a deep respect for the body’s remarkable ability to adapt, heal, and find balance.

This integrated training allows me to consider how the body’s muscular, neural, vascular, articular and visceral systems connect and influence one another. I’m continually fascinated by how these interactions shape posture, movement, and wellbeing, and by the subtle “detective work” involved in uncovering the true source of dysfunction. For me, optimal health depends on restoring balance and harmony between all systems of the body.

I am also trained in Applied Kinesiology through the International College of Applied Kinesiology: a holistic approach that uses gentle muscle testing to understand how your body’s muscles, structures, and internal systems are working together as a whole. This training has been both personally and professionally transformative. I first discovered its benefits during my own recovery from chronic fatigue and post-viral illness, and it has since become an integral part of how I work. Applied Kinesiology (AK) helps to identify where the body may be out of balance and tailor treatment to support overall health, combining hands-on therapy with natural supports such as nutritional and lifestyle guidance.

Alongside my adult practice, I have a particular interest in paediatric physiotherapy. I love supporting children from infancy through adolescence, helping them move, grow, and thrive. I am trained in Primitive Reflex Integration, which focuses on early movement patterns that, if retained beyond infancy, can influence a child’s development, learning, and behaviour. Supporting children and their families to understand these foundations is a deeply rewarding part of my work.

My practice brings together gentle, hands-on techniques that create meaningful change. Seeing people regain comfort, confidence, and vitality, often after years of struggle, remains the most rewarding part of what I do.

Outside of work, I value time with my husband, children, family, and friends, as well as time outdoors and keeping active. I’m most content when I’m moving, learning, or enjoying nature: the same balance I hope to help others find in their own lives.
